Born in Slovenia and shaped by four decades of work across Europe, Asia, and North America, David Selakovic has founded and led ventures in information technology, biotechnology, crop science, and performance products — turning overlooked problems into innovative companies.
He is Founder and CEO of Vegalab, a Swiss biotechnology company developing high-performance technologies for crop science, beauty science, life sciences, and biosecurity. Its proprietary nano-encapsulation, micronization, and live-microorganism platforms are engineered to give natural inputs the efficacy, consistency, and ease of use the market expects from synthetics — without the residue.
The instinct to build began early. As a teenager in the former Yugoslavia he created the puzzle game MindTrap and sold it to Mastertronic. He left for Singapore and founded a computer company — the first of several he would build and sell around the world.
That instinct has never changed: identify what the market has overlooked, build the practical system, and move before the opportunity is obvious to everyone else. He prefers useful companies to loud ones, long-term systems to short-term noise, and performance to appearance.
